About Coach

Dyl is an accomplished coach with a rich sporting background spanning multiple disciplines. He played five years in the Victorian Football League (VFL), representing both Richmond and Coburg, and boasts two VFL premierships along with a TAC Cup premiership. Beyond football, Dyl is a decorated swimmer, having won three Victorian swimming titles and one national swimming title.

Since 2018, Dyl has been actively involved in CrossFit, showcasing his dedication to fitness and high-performance training. His interests extend beyond sports into music, jiu-jitsu, and waterskiing. A unique fun fact about Dyl is that he has released his own album titled Karma Armour, named after his dog, which is available on iTunes and Spotify.

Turning Point

Dyl’s turning point arrived as he neared the end of his VFL career, having already established himself as an elite athlete with a 9:42 3km and a beep test score of 16.12—numbers that placed him well ahead of his peers. While dabbling in CrossFit during this time, Dyl discovered something that resonated more deeply than competition alone: the power of the CrossFit methodology to transform lives, not just his own, but those of everyday people inside the affiliates.

Stepping away from the VFL, Dyl committed himself fully to CrossFit, driven by a desire to see how far he could go in the sport competitively. But at the core, he was—and remains—a believer in the CrossFit approach: constantly varied, functional movements executed at high intensity, scalable for anyone, and proven to deliver universal, repeatable results.
